Nine jawans killed

Agartala Oct. 9. Nine Army personnel were killed today when they were ambushed by insurgents of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) in Tripura's Dhalai district, police said here. A group of heavily armed NLFT insurgents, hiding in a bush, sprayed bullets at a vehicle carrying 12 jawans of the Territorial Army at Sindhukumarpara, they said. The vehicle was going to Raisayabari from Sindhukumarpara when the ultras ambushed it, police said. — PTI
