Most places in Kerala and coastal Karnataka received rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, besides many areas in Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andhra Pradesh, according to a special bulletin issued this afternoon. Among the areas that recorded high rainfall were Tiruvalla 12 cm, Thiruvananthapuram 10 cm and Kannur 8 cm, (all in Kerala), Tambaram, Adiramapatnam and Thiruthuraipoondi five cm each, and Nagapttinam and Vedaranyam 4 cm each, (all in Tamil Nadu). ``Rain or thundershower is likely to occur (in the next two days) at many places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka and a few places over south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra Pradesh''.
