Probe into Salman case `almost over'

Mumbai Oct. 9. Police are cross-checking the information provided by the Bollywood actor, Salman Khan, on the imported vehicle involved in the September 28 accident, even as the probe by the Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Ahmed Javed, is "more or less complete".

There were reports that the Toyota Land Cruiser was registered under the name of one Mohd. Abdul Rahim, but the address provided during the registration of the vehicle had turned out to be fictitious. Police officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the questioning of the actor, who is lodged in the Crime Branch lockup at Crawford Market, continued to revolve around the vehicle. — UNI
