Letters to the Editor
Sir, This has reference to "Errors galore in NCERT textbooks" (Oct. 5). It is a matter of concern that the country's highest knowledge-oriented model for academic excellence and reputed body has committed mistakes in the social science textbooks. It is also surprising that the Supreme Court has given its nod to the release of such books without examining their secular and sectarian character. It is important for educationists, philanthropists and voluntary organisations to reject the release and implementation of the said books. The Government and the courts should constitute a value-based academic editorial board in order to enrich and strengthen our education. G. Sambasiva Reddy, Badvel, A.P.
