Engg.: 15 p.c. quota for foreign nationals

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM July 15. The State Government has approved the proposal of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to reserve 15 per cent seats for the various engineering courses, over and above the intake capacity of the engineering colleges having the necessary infrastructure facilities, for the benefit of foreign nationals and people of Indian origin.

The Committee for Admission of Foreign Students has invited applications for admission to these supernumerary seats, in the prescribed form.

Applicants should have passed the pre-degree course of any of the universities in Kerala or the Plus Two course (under the State syllabus or the CBSE curriculum) or an equivalent Indian or foreign course with 12 years of schooling. They should have secured 50 per cent marks or equivalent grade in the aggregate for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 50 per cent marks or equivalent grades for Mathematics, separately.

The tuition fee will be $4,000 a year. Candidates eligible for admission to these seats should apply to the Nodal Officer, Committee for Admission of Foreign Students, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, who can be contacted over phone on 9847044018.

The format of application for admission to the four year BTech courses is available at the Web site `www.wayanadenggcollege.com'. The last date for submitting applications is August 28, 2002.
