PPP all set to fight the electoral battle

ISLAMABAD July 15. In a clear signal that it is determined to take on the Musharraf regime despite all the obstacles, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) led by the former Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto, has invited applications from candidates desirous of contesting the October election.

Public announcement by the PPP is intended to convey a message to the functionaries of the Musharraf Government that the party is not deterred by the new rules and regulations announced in recent weeks and is all set to fight the electoral battle.

The PPP has invited applications from aspirants for the three categories of seats.

These are senate seats both general and those reserved for technocrats/ulema and other professionals, special seats reserved for women in the national assembly and all the provincial assemblies and the technocrats seats in the national and provincial assemblies.
