Laying the foundation of a Rs 77.25-lakh Jawan Bhavan, which would come up at Pakkamodayanpet village, at a function in Raj Nivas here today, she said the grievances of ex-servicemen should be accorded very high priorty as their services were most valuable to the cause of national security. Dr. Rajani Rai appealed to various industrial units in the private sector to prefer ex-servicemen in employments suited to their qualifications. She said that by this gesture they could contribute their mite to promote ex-servicemen's welfare. She also underscored the need for monitoring the progress made in the facility of reservation for ex-servicemen in job opportunities in government departments and public sector undertakings.The Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, presided. The Director of the Sainik Welfare Department, Ashok Choudhry, referred to the highlights of the project launched by the department.The Chief Secretary, T. T. Joseph, the PWD Superintending Engineer, Subash Chandra Bose, S. P. Sivakumar, A. M. Krishnamoorthy and M.O.H Shah Jahan, MLAs, were among those present.
