`More job opportunities for hearing impaired'

By Our Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM April 29. "Can we get a job after completing the computer course?'', "Will the Government help us get jobs''_ these seemed to be the concerns of all participants of a vacation camp, organised by the National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH), during their meeting with the Social Welfare Minister, P. K. Kunhalikutty, at his official residence, Lyndhurst, in the city today.

The faces of the students lit up when Mr. Kunhalikutty assured them that the Government would take all possible steps for providing better job opportunities for them.

Later Mr. Kunhalikutty also announced the news of the accreditation of the NISH by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), which had selected NISH as an Institution of Excellence.

Later speaking to presspersons, Mr. Vijayaraghavan said NISH was one of the seven institutions in the country, which had received accreditation and was also the youngest institution to receive the excellence certificate.
