MP seeks aid to tackle A.P. water contamination

NEW DELHI APRIL 29. The Congress MP, Dasari Narayana Rao, today urged the Centre to provide assistance and funds to Andhra Pradesh where the water in several areas have been contaminated.

Raising the issue in the Rajya Sabha through a special mention, Mr.Rao said some 300 people had been hospitalised after drinking water contaminated with excess fluoride and nitrate. He said some 10,000 inhabitations had been affected.

The areas included Anantapur, Warangal, Nalgonda-Prakasam, Karimnagar, Mehboobnagar, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari
