PM's assurance to Vaiko

NEW DELHI April 29. The Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, today assured the MDMK General Secretary, Vaiko, that he would ``look into'' his plea for allowing candidates appearing for examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to write the examinations in all languages mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.

The Prime Minister gave this assurance to Mr. Vaiko when he presented a memorandum to him in this regard.

Earlier in the day, when Mr. Vaiko raised this issue in the Lok Sabha during zero hour, all MPs cutting across party lines supported the demand.
