Cipla profit up

The net profit of Cipla for the year ended March 31, 2002 has risen to Rs. 229.19 crores from Rs. 179.10 crores in 2000-01. Net sales were higher at Rs. 1,386.80 crores against Rs. 1,047.51 crores.

Other income accounted for Rs. 44 crores against Rs. 38.60 crores.

For the quarter ended March 2002, the net profit spurted to Rs. 61.70 crores from Rs. 34.36 crores. Net sales have risen to Rs. 385.62 crores from Rs. 260.50 crores. Other income accounted for Rs. 10.74 crores (Rs. 13.86 crores).
