Fall in NIIT net

IT education and services company NIIT has reported a 95.84 per cent fall in its net profit to Rs 2.01 crore in the second quarter ended March 31, 2002 compared to Rs 48.33 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Income from operations was down 59 per cent to Rs 89.03 crores in January-March 2002 as compared to Rs. 217.03 crores in the year-ago period.

The net profit for the six month period October-March 2001-02 dipped by 93 per cent to Rs. 5.47 crores against Rs. 78.16 crores profit in the same period last year. Income from operation declined by 54.8 per cent to Rs. 168.29 crore in October-March when compared with Rs. 372.84 crores a year ago.
