Justice Sadhasiva told newsmen here today that he would not submit any interim report. The Bangalore enquiry would facilitate the police and others those who could not visit Gobichettipalayam, Madeswaranmalai and Kolathur to depose before him. About 300 tribals had so far deposed before the commission alleging police atrocities. Later Justice Sadhasiva and C.V. Narasimhan, retired Director of the CBI started fifth round of enquiry at Gobichettipalayam. The common allegation by the tribals was that the STF had illegally kept them in camps, beat up and tortured them and also administered electric shock. Giriyan of Kathirimalai, Burgur hill, said that nine years ago the STF took him and his two sons to the Madeswaranmalai camp, where they were administered electric shock for a week. Then he and his second son, Eranna, were sent back. He alleged that the STF had killed his first son, Dasanna, as the force suspected that the family of having helped Veerappan. Madaiyan of Oosimalai, Anthiyur forest, said he suffered a fracture in the right leg in beating by the STF men seven years ago, and still he could not walk freely. Six others complained that they suffered because of STF `atrocities'. The STF personnel_Srivatasava, Inspector-General, Karnataka; Harisekar, SP, Chamarajnagar; Ashok Kumar, ADSP and Chenna Mallan, DSP, were present. On behalf of the Karnataka and Tamil Nadu STFs, the police officials denied the allegations by the tribals who, they said, were levelling charges with intent to get compensation.
