Competitions in Sanskrit

CHENNAI, DEC. 8. A programme to instil in young minds the eminence of Sanskrit language was held at the Hindu Senior Secondary School, Indira Nagar, here on Saturday. Competitions on recitation of Krishnashtakam, Lingashtakam, Adhityahrudayam and Gita Dhyanam, besides on devotional and Sanskrit songs were held in which students of Standards V to VIII from 15 schools participated. Also exhibits on Hindu mythology, writing, lyrics and charts featuring the timeless relevance of the ancient language were featured during the day's programme, a release from the school said.
