Pradeep comes to Andhra's rescue

VISAKHAPATNAM, DEC. 8. Responsible batting by A.G. Pradeep (80, 236b, 4x6) saved Andhra from a complete collapse in its V. Pattabhiraman Trophy (under-16) league match against Tamil Nadu at the Municipal Corporation Stadium, Vijayawada on Saturday.
Andhra was down in dumps at 34 runs for the loss of five wickets after electing to bat. Pradeep added 51 runs for the sixth wicket with G. Bhuvan Kumar (28) and later 55 runs for the eighth wicket with Sk. Shakeer Hussain (17) to help Andhra score a total of 149 runs.
For Tamil Nadu captain and medium pacer R. Naresh took three wickets while S. Desappan and L.K. Arun Prakash picked up two wickets each and P. Ramprasad and Jonathan Sunil Moses one each.
Tamil Nadu was on 13 for no loss at close with Abhisekh Venugopal on seven and S. Narendran on three.
The scores: Andhra 149 in 83.1 overs (A.G. Pradeep 80, G. Bhuvan Kumar 28, R. Naresh three for 33) vs Tamil Nadu 13 for no loss in four overs.
