Another loss for Humpy

HYDERABAD, DEC. 8. Woman Grandmaster Koneru Humpy (ELO 2484) suffered a defeat at the hands of IM Czebe Attila (ELO 2491) of Hungary in the sixth round game of the First Saturday Grandmasters chess tournament being held in Budapest, according to information received here on saturday.

The Bank of Baroda-sponsored girl, who will take on GM Vargar Zoltan of Hungary in the seventh round, has a disappointing 2.5 points at the end of sixth round. Another Indian in the fray, Tejas Bakre, drew the sixth round, to be in the fourth place with 3.5 points.

Hungarians GM Berkes Ferenc (2541) and IM Czebe Attila shared the top spot with 4.5 points each. Top-seed and GM Ilincic Zlatko of Yugoslavia (ELO 2521) slipped to third place with 4 points.
