Team to study refugee influx into W.Bengal

KOLKATA, DEC. 8. Concerned over the influx of more than three-lakh Hindu refugees from Bangladesh into India since October, the Union Home Minister, Mr. L.K. Advani, is sending his deputy, Mr. Vidyasagar Rao, here later this month to assess the gravity of the situation.

The State BJP president, Mr. Asim Ghosh, told presspersons here today that a six-member, all-party parliamentary delegation would visit the bordering districts in the State for an on-the-spot assessment.

A third team headed by senior BJP leader, Mr. Saheb Singh Verma, would also arrive here later this month, under instructions from the party president, Mr. Jana Krishnamurthy.
