Court reserves order on scribe's bail plea

CHAMARAJANAGAR, DEC.8. The Chamarajanagar JMFC Court reserved its orders on the bail application by the Nakkeeran reporter, Sivasubramanian, who is in police custody till December 10, on Friday. He was arrested under the Arms and Explosives Act by the Karnataka Special Task Force (STF) formed to nab the forest brigand, Veerappan.
Mr. Siddanaika, junior counsel of Sivasubramaian, produced the copy of a complaint filed by Ms. Jayanthi, wife of the accused, which was translated into Kannada, at Athur Police Station in Salem District. He also submitted a copy of a report on the statement given by six persons, including Ms. Jayanthi, regarding the ``abduction'' of the reporter, and a report on the copy of police verification of the ``abduction'' by the Salem Superintendent of Police. The Public Prosecutor, Mr. Krishnamurthy, was present.
