India, Pak. exchange fire

JAMMU, DEC. 8. Indian troops opened retaliatory fire when Pakistani soldiers resorted to heavy unprovoked firing on Indian positions across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kerni sector of Poonch district in the Jammu region today.

Sources said around 8.30 a.m., Pakistani troops opened fire using heavy machine guns and mortars forcing retaliation from the Indian troops. The exchange continued for an hour. There were no casualties in the Indian side.
