Digvijay stress on more job avenues
By Our Staff Correspondent

KHAJURAHO, DEC. 8. The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr. Digvijay Singh, has called for a concerted strategy to shift more people away from the primary sector to the tertiary sector.

``Unfortunately this is not happening,'' the Chief Minister said, adding that governments, planners and captains of industry will have to sit down together and apply their minds to ways for building appropriate training grounds for people at the grassroots level and create employment avenues in basic areas like education, forestry and health. Given the huge size of his State and the shortage of trained doctors in remote villages in the interior, he emphasised the need for a comprehensive strategy for health and advocated the idea of barefoot doctors.

Mr. Singh was speaking last night as the chief guest at the inaugural session of ``Destination Madhya Pradesh''-a special two-day brainstorming conclave organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry(CII)-Madhya Pradesh.
