All that glitters is not gold
ALLAHABAD, NOV. 6. All that glitters is not gold, even if it is a
gift to the Chief Minister. A `gold' crown given to Mr. Rajnath
Singh turned out to be a silver one, much to the embarrassment of
the Jaiswal Sabha that gifted it to him last Thursday for
including their community in the most backward classes list.
Mr. Singh wanted the crown to be melted and made into smaller
ornaments to be gifted during the marriages of poor girls.
A district magistrate who was put on the job got the shock of his
life when the jeweller took the glitter off the crown.
The Sabha has expressed regret over the incident and assured the
district magistrate it would donate Rs. 5,100 for charity.
