Al-Qaeda seeking n-weapons: Bush
WASHINGTON, NOV. 6. The U.S. President, Mr. George Bush, today
said that Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network was seeking
chemical, biological and nuclear weapons.
In a speech via satellite to a conference of eastern European
leaders in Warsaw, Poland, Mr. Bush said the Al-Qaeda network,
blamed for the September 11 attacks, was trying to export
``terror throughout the world''.
``Al-Qaeda operates in more than 60 nations, including some in
central and eastern Europe. These terrorist groups seek to
destabilise entire nations and regions,'' Mr. Bush said.
``They're seeking chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. Given
their means, our enemies would be a threat to every nation and
eventually, to civilization itself.''
