Samajwadi MP hits out at Amar Singh

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, NOV. 6. The Samajwadi Party (SP), which is contesting the coming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, found the going rough within, with a senior party leader and MP, Mr. Balram Singh Yadava, expressing anguish over the manner in which affairs of the outfit were being run.

Mr. Yadava, who was removed as party general secretary earlier, wrote a letter to the party chief, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav, objecting to Mr. Amar Singh, and suggested that the party should ``get rid of opportunists'' warning that otherwise ``nobody can stop you and your party from being ruined''.

The two-page letter, was extremely critical of the way in which affairs of the SP were being managed. Mr. Yadava said discontentment in the party was brewing to the extent of revolt since there was little room for freedom of expression in any party fora.

Mr. Yadava, a former Union Minister, said senior leaders like him also felt insulted and humiliated.
