Pak. moves more troops along Indian border
New Delhi, Nov. 1. India today claimed that Pakistan had moved
additional troops to areas facing Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir
and Ganganagar in the Rajasthan sectors.

Islamabad, Nov. 1. The Taliban Ambassador to Pakistan today
claimed that the militia has arrested some U.S. citizens and
investigations against them were in progress.
Verdict reserved in TANSI cases
Chennai, Nov. 1. The judgment in the `TANSI land deals cases', on
which hinges the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms.
Jayalalithaa's political prospects, was reserved in the Madras
High Court today. After hearing arguments for 18 days since
October 1, Mr. Justice N. Dinakar reserved the orders in the
cases, in which Ms. Jayalalithaa and her close friend, Ms.
Sasikalaa, are the main accused.
Krishan Kant faints in temple
Kurnool, Nov. 1. The Vice-President, Mr. Krishan Kant, fainted in
the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple at Srisailam on Thursday after
``Rudrahomam''. His personal physician attended on him before a
panel of waiting doctors provided medical help.
Microsoft strikes deal
Washington, Nov. 1. Lawyers representing the U.S. Govt. and
Microsoft have reached a tentative settlement of the anti-trust
case against the software giant. The settlement would give
computer makers greater freedom to include rival software in the
PCs they sell.
