11 killed in accident

DEHRA DUN, SEPT.1. Eleven persons, including eight Armymen, were killed and nine injured when a bus carrying them fell into a deep gorge in Sonala area of Chamoli district today, police said.

While nine were killed on the spot, two succumbed to injuries on way to hospital, the SP of Chamoli told PTI over telephone.

The bus was going to Hardwar from Joshimuth when the mishap occurred, he said. Among the injured, the condition of five army personnel is stated to be serious.
