Radio taxi fares revised in City
By Our Special Correspondent
BANGALORE, SEPT. 1. The City Radio Taxi Owners and Drivers'
Association has announced a revision in fares as approved by the
RTA in Bangalore. After discussions with the Transport Minister,
Mr. C.R.Sageer Ahmed, the radio taxi operators have set up a
Central Taxi Service Control Room for services within 25 km. of
the corporation limits. Commuters can call 3523636 any time for
service and the request will be relayed over the radio taxi
network.
The association clarified that the taxi meter will be switched on
when the taxi reported to the customer. The waiting charges will
be included in the meter reading itself and no separate charges
will be asked for waiting.
For any complaints or information, passengers can use the two-way
radios fitted in the taxis or call the control room, before
making payment to the driver.
All radio taxies are provided with complaint and suggestion books
and since most drivers were educated ex-servicemen, they will
attend politely to complaints.
