NDA confusion will end with local bodies poll: BJP

By Our Staff Reporter

TIRUCHI, SEPT. 1. The present confusion over NDA constituents in the State will end once the local bodies elections are announced, Mr. L. Ganesan, State BJP general secretary, told mediapersons here today.

The composition of the NDA here was the prerogative of the DMK president, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, who headed the alliance in the State.

On the Chief Minister, Ms. Jayalalithaa's reference in the Assembly to ties with the BJP, Mr. Ganesan said she might have thought that it would be easy to proceed against the DMK if it was separated from the BJP. There was no constructive cause in her suggestion.

Vehemently ruling out the possibility of an alliance with the AIADMK, he said there was no such idea among the BJP cadres. ``We have not forgotten the bitter past.''
