SAF games: India confirms participation

By B. Muralidhar Reddy

ISLAMABAD, SEPT. 1. India has confirmed its participation in the South Asian Federation (SAF) games scheduled to be held here from October 6 and Pakistan has no reason to believe that New Delhi would go back on its word.

Addressing a news conference here, the SAF organising committee chief, Maj. Gen. Syed Arif Hasan, said a team of Doordarshan and All India Radio officials is expected to take part in a meeting on broadcasting/telecasting rights of the various events of the nine-day extravaganza.

There was no indication that India would boycott the games, he added. According to organisers India has already confirmed its participation and named 380 strong contingent.
