FM 2 channel on air

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 1. All India Radio's FM 2 channel - a blend of current affairs and entertainment programmes - went on air in all four metros early today.

Inaugurated formally with a live performance by singer, Mr. Hariharan, and five songs of the choice of the Information and Broadcasting Minister, Ms. Sushma Swaraj, the hour-long function was carried live over the network in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.

With hourly news in Hindi and English, the channel will have current affairs programmes on politics, business, markets, it, science, travel and entertainment.
