Kawasaki Bajaj Eliminator
With stylish handlebars, truly comfortable seats, and the fiery
hues that characterise the bike. From the front, there is a meaty
helping of hi-chrome glitz and attitude, things Kawasaki is
renowned for internationally. Motorcycles trace their origin to
the British Raj in India, when they were used by the British army
as dispatch riders during World War II.
Lately, motorcycles seem to have become a way of life. They can
best be termed "charismatic objects''. Those who are crazy about
these sleek bikes form a fascinating subset of society and
motorcycling is a part of their life.
Bajaj Kawasaki launched recently its 175cc 15ps Eliminator
Cruiser bike with a five speed gear box in New Delhi followed by
launches in Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore. This is the first Cruiser
bike being launched in the two wheeler segment in India and has
got a lot of inspiration from the original Harley Davidson of the
U.S. A typically low-slung bike, it compares with the finest in
the world.
From the side, the Eliminator displays the low-slung sweep of a
predator. With stylish handlebars, truly comfortable seats, and
the fiery hues that characterises the bike. From the front, there
is a meaty helping of hi-chrome glitz and attitude, things
Kawasaki is renowned for internationally. Start to stop the
Eliminator is a neat piece of precision engineering. It comes
equipped with electric and kickstart starting. Sporting a 4-
stroke engine with a positive crank case ventilation valve and a
catalytic converter to keep emissions under control, the bike is
capable of generating a top speed of 116 km per hour. It has the
longest wheelbase of 1,064 mm and front fork travel of 140 mm,
turning the rough into the smooth. It is the only bike with a low
centre of gravity to give riding comfort and stability to the
young and the old. Pleasure and fun do not come cheap and this
bike is hungry giving anything between 40 to 43 kilometres to a
litre under ideal city conditions and costs Rs. 86,650 in Delhi.
The braking system, like the rest of the bike, is on a par with
standard bikes in the world.
The front brake system is 260-mm disc from world-renowned Brembo
of Italy and the rear brakes are 130-mm diameter drum. The first
princely bike, "Eliminator'', will be sold from the state-of-the-
art Eliminator Service Enclaves in Delhi. The objective is to
present this bike in a "never before seen'' service back up -
smoke free, dust free, oil free and with completely hydraulic
service lifts with overhead pneumatic tools.
The enclaves have the state-of-the-art digital oil dispenser-cum-
oil drain unit that looks more like a showroom than a service
centre.
