CM draws full salary

By Radha Venkatesan

CHENNAI, AUG. 1. After two and a half months in office, the Chief Minister, Ms. Jayalalithaa, drew her salary today.

Unlike in her previous tenure when she received only ``100 paise'' as monthly pay, Ms. Jayalalithaa has now drawn her full pay of Rs. 10,000 including the allowances.

Sources said the Chief Minister's Office presented the bills and collected the pay for the period from May 15 to June 30.

Though the Pay and Accounts department had issued her pay slip on May 29, she had not picked up her pay packet till this morning.

However, following a report in this columns yesterday that she was yet to draw her pay, the Chief Minister's Office appears to have decided to collect the salary for May and June.
