AP asks Karnataka to release Krishna water

By Our Special Correspondent.

HYDERABAD, AUG. 1. Andhra Pradesh has urged Karnataka to release additional water from the Narayanpur dam, across the river Krishna, in view of the precarious position in the Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar dams in the State.

In a letter to his Karnataka counterpart, Mr. S.M. Krishna, the Chief Minister, Mr. N.Chandrababu Naidu, said the present situation was causing panic, and held out little hope of continuing further agricultural operations, unless there was substantial inflow into the Srisailam dam.
