Sasikiran in 10th spot
CHENNAI, JULY 26. Grandmaster Krishnan Sasikiran of ONGC, Chennai
won his sixth round game in the Czech Open chess tournament at
Pardubice to move to the joint 10th place on Wednesday.
After a draw with the black pieces against Croatian International
Master Branko Kutuzovic in the fifth round, the second highest
rated Indian player defeated German Steve Berger with the white
pieces to take his tally to 4.5 points from six rounds.
A total of 303 players are competing in this tournament. Local
star GM Marek Vokac is leading the field with 5.5 points. The
nine-round event concludes on July 29.
