Clariant India profit up
Clariant India has announced a 24 per cent increase in net profit
at Rs. 5.02 crores for the first quarter ended June 30, 2001 as
against Rs. 4.06 crores in the corresponding period last year.
Sales turnover was up at Rs. 72.96 crores (Rs. 64.81 crores).
Addressing shareholders at the company's annual general meeting
(AGM) in Mumbai, Mr. P. R. Rastogi, managing director, said that
Clariant has been able to perform well in a tough industry
environment which has been recording negative growth. ``The
growth was contributed by business unit masterbatch that grew by
78 per cent followed by paper 27 per cent, leather 20 per cent
and textile chemicals 11 per cent.'' said Mr. Rastogi.
