Swamy seeks probe into Phoolan killing

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, JULY 26. The Janata Party president, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, has called upon the Lok Sabha Speaker, Mr. G.M.C. Balayogi, to order an inquiry into the killing of Phoolan Devi, to determine the lapses and fix responsibility.

In a statement from Boston, he said, ``the news of Phoolan Devi's assassination in broad daylight outside her residence near Parliament House is shocking and a telling commentary on the BJP- led Government because it has been disregarding Intelligence Bureau reports and fiddling with the security cover of its opponents''.
