IA resumes service
By Nirupama Subramanian
COLOMBO, JULY 26. Indian Airlines resumed its Chennai-Colombo-
Chennai flights from Bandaranaike International Airport today.
``The flight arrived and left as scheduled,`` said Mr. Kamal
Mehra, IA Sri Lanka Manager.
The airline is also operating its flight to Tiruvananthapuram
from here. In addition to the IA flights, Sri Lankan Airlines was
also scheduled to operate two flights to Chennai today. The
airlines, whose fleet has been reduced by half after the LTTE
attack, plans to use its equity partner Emirates to cope with its
crisis. For this, it will establish hubs in Dubai and Singapore,
from where its passengers will be put on Emirates flights to
onward destinations.
