BANGALORE, JULY 26. The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), in
an extended interim order on a petition filed by Dr.
R.Vishwanathan, Director-General of Police, on Thursday said the
selection of any officer of the rank of Director-General of
Police (DGP) to serve in the Union Government would be subject to
the decision on the application of Dr. Vishwanathan. After
hearing counsel, the CAT Vice-Chairman, Mr. Justice Neelam
Sanjeeva Reddy, extended the scope of the CAT's earlier interim
order to cover all DGP-level posts at the Centre.
