Export ceiling on wheat raised

NEW DELHI, JUNE 9. The Government on Friday raised the ceiling on
wheat exports during the previous financial year, 2000-1, from 2
million tonnes to five million tonnes. The last date for shipment
has been extended up to June 30.
A notification issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade
(DGFT) says the exports can be carried out by specified agencies,
which includes the State Trading Corporation, the Projects and
Equipment Corporation (PEC), the National Cooperative Consumer
Federation of India Limited (NCCF), the National Agricultural
Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) and the Punjab
State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited
(Markfed).
