Bharat Forge's profit low
Bharat Forge, has reported a significantly lower net profit of
Rs. 32.64 crores in the year ended March 31, 2001 against Rs.
62.60 crores in the previous year. The directors have recommended
a dividend of 30 per cent.
The total income has declined to 544.80 crores from Rs. 585.30
crores. The profit before tax has dropped sharply to Rs. 35.90
crores from Rs. 72.80 crores.
This is mainly on account of higher burden of depreciation and
interest charges due to the commissioning of the second 16,000
tonne forging press line in March 2000.
