Zip Global to get second round funding
CHENNAI: Zip Global Network, the Mauritius based parent of the
Indian payphone service major, Zip Telecom, is receiving its
second round funding for $20 million from the AIG Astan
Opportunity G.P. This transaction is in two parts with $17
million to be invested by Zip Global in Zip Telecom and the
balance $3 million to be earmarked for other international
operations, according to a company release. The first round of
funding to the tune of $10.5 million was received last year from
various sources.
