4-man gang robs bank officials of Rs. 8.22 lakhs

BANGALORE, JUNE 4. A four-member gang waylaid two bank officials
and robbed them of Rs. 8.22 lakhs on Monday.
According to police, two employees of the Indian Bank at Peenya
collected Rs. 8,22,606 in cash from a godown of a software
multinational in the Yeshwanthpur industrial area on Monday
morning, and left the place by car. When the vehicle reached
Hyundai Circle, four persons in a Maruti van stopped them and
took away two suitcases containing the money.
The RMC Yard police have registered a case. Police suspect that
the robbery was committed by the gang which was involved in a
series of crimes of a similar nature sometime ago.
Chain stolen: A gold chain weighing 40 grams was stolen from the
residence of Ms. Sharada M. Bharati on 16th Cross, J.P. Nagar 4th
Phase, in the early hours of Monday.
Police said the gold chain had been kept on a table near a
window. The J.P. Nagar police have registered a case.
