BJP calls for CM's intervention

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JUNE 4. The BJP general secretary, Mr. P. P. Mukundan, urged here on Monday that the Chief Minister, Mr. A. K. Antony, should intervene to put an end to the barbaric kind of violence taking place in Kozhikode and Kannur districts.

The BJP leader noted that plunder and arson were taking place at Nadapuram and Cheruvathur in broad daylight. Even the police were insecure.

The ruling party and the main Opposition party in the Assembly were attacking each other with bombs and lethal weapons.

The Government should not be late in taking strong measures to end the violence, Mr. Mukundan said.
