PM rules out recall of TN Governor
BHUJ, JUNE 4. The Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, today
ruled out the recall of the Tamil Nadu Governor, Ms. Fathima
Beevi, for swearing in the AIADMK supremo, Ms. Jayalalitha, as
the Chief Minister despite her conviction in corruption cases.
Asked by reporters here if he agreed with the Tamil Nadu BJP
unit's demand for Ms. Beevi's recall, he said ``no, not at all.''
He said he would find out why the BJP State unit had made the
demand.
The Prime Minister's remarks came a day ahead of his scheduled
meeting with Ms. Jayalalitha, the first between the two since she
assumed Chief Ministership.
