Widespread rain likely

CHENNAI, JUNE 4. A trough of low pressure, which developed over
north Tamil Nadu-south Andhra Pradesh coast on Sunday, persists.
Fairly widespread rain is expected over the State and the Union
Territory of Pondicherry on Tuesday.
Meenambakkam, Perangalur and Valparai recorded 3 cm of rainfall
each during the 24 hours that ended 8-30 a.m. on Monday while
Tambaram, Aranthangi, Pamban and Erode were among those areas
which received 2 cm of rainfall.
