Every cloud has a silver lining
AT life's crossroads, people meet with unfortunate things that
give them long-standing impressions. It is life's unexplained
theory that, times that give sorrow seem to be lasting forever.
As always, nature cannot be imperfect and it reflects in all the
mirthful things in the world, which last for perhaps a shorter
span but gives us more than what we need.
At the end of the dark tunnel, light does not remain just that.
Like how a shiny day ends with a dark night and a murky night
turns into a sunny daybreak, in every disaster there is something
hidden which is perhaps a hope, a strand of new life, a promise
of better things or a reward for everything that is lost.
Little do people understand this and that's why many of us could
not endure bad times. But those who have known this have not
tasted defeat. All those unfortunate Japanese who lost everything
in the first nuclear bomb blast would not have known their
strength, to become one of the world's most developed land, had
they not believed in the silver line hidden in the cloud. We
remember with fondness those who fought for their country, for
their welfare, for every good cause because they show us the path
of optimism. Faith is confidence and that is our driving force.
It's for the pained, the deprived, the vulnerable, the old, the
handicapped, the defeated and the dejected, to understand and
accept the fact that all their sufferings will come to an end one
day and they would, like all others succeed and spread the joys
of living. Without this hope, sorrows would ever remain sorrows.
AJAY REDDY, XII C, Lady Andal
