A dream
A NEW and unusual art exhibition will brighten up the new year in
Bangalore. Vasudev's "Tapestries" is on view for the first time
at the Sakshi Gallery (January 6-20).
Vasudev has been working on these tapestries for over seven
years, together with master weaver Subbarayulu. The works
represent the culmination of the artist's vision and the
craftsman's skill.
Tapestry is a new medium for Vasudev but it is not the first time
he has ventured into a medium other than oils on canvas and ink
on paper. Over the years he has worked extensively with copper
relief. He has also executed a number of murals using different
media.
As he says, "It is possible for an artist to work in varied
media and adapt to the different approach and treatment required
for each. I always explore possibilities that challenge my
creative abilities."
