Rishipal shocks Neelotpal
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD JAN. 6. Local lad Rishipal Singh of Osmania University
created the biggest sensation of the day when he defeated
International Master Neelotpal Das in the fifth round of the 5th
Global Trust Bank's FIDE rated All India Open chess tournament
here on Saturday. Top seed G.B. Prakash maintained a half point
lead over the rest by beating Survajit Saha.
Rishipal, playing with great precision, gradually established his
domination and by the 14th move had a clear advantage. On the
24th move he was a pawn up and Neelotpal under time pressure lost
a piece in the 33rd move and surrendered on the 37th.
Another AP player, Y. Kalyan Kumar who had upset P. Konguvel on
Friday, kept up his fine performance by beating IM N.K. Mishra in
45 moves. Mishra adopted a Nimzo Indian defence and on the 21st
