'PMK will head Pondy Govt. after polls'

PONDICHERRY, JAN. 6. The PMK leader, Dr. S. Ramadoss, has said that a coalition government headed by the PMK would come into being in the wake of the next Assembly polls in the Union Territory of Pondicherry.

Addressing a meeting in Mudaliarpet near here last night, he said he would take up with the Union Home Ministry the matter of pay scales on Delhi pattern for police personnel in Pondicherry. He also said that the government-owned AFT mill here should be toned up and Centre's cooperation would be sought in this direction.

He would visit all the villages including the dalit segments to listen to their problems and to settle them without delay here.

Mr. M. Manjini, convenor of the Pondicherry State PMK committee, the former Education Minister, Mr. N. Manimaran, Mr. P. Sankaran, vice- president of the PMK headquarters committee, Mr. Lokalakshagan, president of the PMK Mudaliarpet constituency committee, and a host of office bearers of the party spoke. Mr. Ravichandran, general secretary of the students wing of the PMK, proposed a vote of thanks.

Resolutions adopted at the meeting urged the Administration to take steps to improve the basic amenities in Mudaliarpet constituency and also tone up the textile mills located in the segment.
