CM 'not aware' of Dhananjay's visit

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JAN. 6. The Chief Minister, Mr. E.K. Nayanar, said that the Union Minister of State, Mr. Dhananjay Kumar, visited Kerala three times last year without informing the State Government.

The Chief Minister stated this in a fax message which he sent to the Union Minister today along with the relevant documents.

The message was by way of a reply to a letter which the Union Minister wrote to the Chief Minister to draw his attention to the CPI(M) State secretary, Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan's statement about his visit.

Mr. Vijayan had said that Mr. Dhananjay Kumar had made the visits without the State Government's knowledge. The Union Minister had, in his letter, contended that the visits were made with the State Government's knowledge and that all the arrangements in connection with his visits were made by the State Government.

Mr. Nayanar, however, stated that he had no idea why the State Government was not informed about the three visits and that Mr. Vijayan's statement should be viewed in that context.

Mr. Nayanar added that the Union Minister could visit the State anytime he wanted to and the State Government would make all the arrangements if it was informed in advance about the visit.
