PM visit to Vietnam, Indonesia begins today
NEW DELHI, JAN. 6. The Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee,
will embark on a week-long visit to Vietnam and Indonesia
tomorrow giving a new dimension to bilateral ties. Several
agreements on agriculture, tourism and culture will be signed.
The visit will bring into sharper focus India's ``look east''
policy aimed at further consolidating relations with the South-
East Asian nations.
Mr. Vajpayee will hold wide-ranging discussions on regional,
international and bilateral issues with the Vietnamese President,
Mr. Tran Duc Luong, the Prime Minister, Mr. Phan Van Khai and the
communist party secretary-general, Mr. Le Kha Phieu.
